Overview

As organizations scale their Kubernetes adoption, managing multiple clusters across different environments becomes increasingly complex. Rancher provides a unified platform to deploy, manage, and secure Kubernetes clusters anywhere - from data centers to edge locations.

This course covers Rancher from installation to advanced multi-cluster management. You will learn to provision clusters across various infrastructure providers, implement centralized authentication and authorization, manage application deployments, and establish consistent policies across your Kubernetes estate. Through hands-on labs, you will gain practical experience with enterprise Rancher deployments.

Objectives

The main objectives of the Rancher course are:

Understanding Rancher architecture and deployment options
Installing and configuring Rancher for production environments
Provisioning and managing Kubernetes clusters with RKE and RKE2
Importing and managing existing Kubernetes clusters
Implementing centralized authentication with LDAP, SAML, and OIDC
Managing multi-cluster applications and workloads
Implementing security policies and compliance across clusters
Monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting with Rancher

Duration and Schedule

The standard course duration is 3 days, with 6 or 7 hours of teaching each day. Extended workshops can cover specific multi-cluster scenarios.
